E71x: dust gets into the screen

i bought a new e71x 2 weeks ago and had to return it yesterday because somehow there was more and more dust/dirt getting in behind screen glass. i got a new same phone and a belt clip to keep it out of my pocket and hopefully dust free, anyone else have /see this problem? other than that the phone is really great, i love Nokia's option to customize your shortcut buttons with whatever you want, makes it so much easier for everthing
 
yeah the same thing happened to me, my first thought was a stuck/dead pixel; however, i determined that it was dust, and yes i will be getting a new one, i think a screen protector might help.
 
I have the same problem with my e71-2. it's a design problem, not specific to the e71x. I think in some post, there was a mention about a seal or something around the screen that allows dust in. Not sure what it was exactly, but i know i heard this from someone cause i have the same problem.
 
same problem here with e71-2. depends on the type of belt clip/case you keep it in. the clothy inside type gets dust inside screen easily
 
I have had 3 E71-2's and I have never had the dust under the screen. However, my first E71x had crucial dust under the screen.

On mt BJII, I had dust under the screen and with my q9h. I really gave up the frustration of returning the device due to that reason unless it was ATT branded since they send a replacement before you send yours back. But, relying on warranty repair to get a refurb device would be more hassle than the dust is worth.....my 2 pennies
 
I don't get any dust under my E66. Also, my old WinMo (HTC Wizard) with a touchscreen didn't get any dust, which I think is true of all touchscreens
 
My E71x has a pretty decent sized gap between the soft keys and the screen. Also, the left soft key/call key wiggles a bit while the right side is firm. Are these build issues normal, as of now i'm planning on exchanging the phone for a new one.
 
The wiggling soft key may be of concern, but the gap is normal from what I hear. I first noticed it on my E71-2 when the room was dark. The back light shines through gap.
 
My E71-2 had dust under the screen when I first got it. I had to take it apart to clean it.. And it still has dust under the screen..

I eventually developed a habit to take the device apart every few months to clean the dust under the screen. I did this rather frequently with my old N73.

The only device I know that rarely gets dust under the screen is the iphone
