E71 on Verizon?

Thanks for the welcome and your prompt replies, Ellen.

Well, nothing I've seen on display at Verizon lately (apart the curve) are very good/attractive phones. I just moved to the US recently and guess a little spoilt by popping my SIM card into any phone, anywhere (Korea/Japan aside).

On the Nokia site it says it supports :

Quad-band EGSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, WCDMA 850/1900 MHz, HSDPA

Isn't the WCDMA the Verizon system?

Verizon has some good phones, you just have to look!

I'll admit though, GSM does get you spoiled when you can switch phones whenever you want.

Well, for starters, from one 'Nokia Users Group' member to another, they don't have any Nokias ;)

Apart from the Black Knight one, but I need email for work....

Tks Ellen. I got it now :D

This does mean that I'll switch to AT&T though, just have to convince my boss....

This 8830 is too big, heavy and terrribly slow. The Curve is outdated, and anything else I've had in my had didn't convince either.

Argh - anyone got a good explanation as to why Verizon are using this other system?

Just got my UMTS adapter for my notebook delivered so that I can surf when travelling. Very prompt, tks Verizon. But its an ******* PC Card and won't work with my Macbook. The other USB adapters are 'National' only. Grrrrrrrrr

:(
