E70 Stock Issues

Yes, this is the phone I've been waiting for also. I love my E70!!!

Can someone please answer my above question RE: the firmware?

Cool I'll hold you to that. The Screen lag problem from when it switches from landscape to portrait. THat could be fixed with a Firmware update right? Or will be?

For anyone still looking for an E70 there are a bunch on eBay right now. Usually only a handful are listed at any one time, but seems to be a good selection at this tme. Thought I would give folks the heads up. None the auctions are mine.
 
So would it be a bad idea to get an e70 since they're discontinued? I've been reading about bad repair experiences because of the lack of stock. I'm wondering if an nseries phone would be better supported, although I really like the qwerty and wifi in the e70.
 
Can either revision of E70 be used with TMobile Pay as you Go service and SIMS in Europe?

Or do you need both 850 and 900, not just 1800 and 1900?
 
THe only real problem I see is the lag time on the screen updates. The camera res, isnt all that bad, its still pretty good. Not like its VGA. I just really like the Form Factor, its great.
 
I got mine from Buy.com but it says they're sold out too.

I'm guessing since Edge is actually a division of Cingular, that's why my pictures finally display normal size now because the network finally recognizes the phone. Those tiny little pictures were really pissing me off.

OT, is this the latest firmware for the E70?
 
So IOW, you really need a quad band to use both in US and Europe.

Why does Nokia not use quad band on all models? Can the chip cost that much more?

Or is there some patent licensing costs as well?
 
The lady lied to me then. Maybe she was trying to make a sale. She said after those last ten that the store wasnt getting any more. And the Rep at Nokia (CS) said that they wont be selling it unlocked anymore, now that Edge Wireless is carrying it. Thats Why they took it off the site to buy the phone only. But they do have alot on display, last I went, they had like 4 up.

I finally got mines though. works like a bute. Had to work out some kinks wit MMS, but now that its up its great. And the apps are wonderful, IM+ (Kisses air) marvelous. Im curious about mundo though. Looks interesting. Hopefully the come out with the release soon.

I managed to steal mine away from a SoCal student who admitted it was too much phone for him so he auctioned it on FleaBay for a price I couldn't refuse! Been looking for a swivel belt clip for months though! Hey HAZE, nice phones by the way! I believe the ergonomics of the split QWERTY is a much desired feature as opposed to the HTC's, BB, Nokia Communicators, the newer Samsungs, etc. I prayed for this handset to be introduced by Nokia for years. My only assumption (...and I don't ever like to assume) is that the rest of the cellular consumer world put less of an emphasis on mobile e-mailing and sms messaging since notebook pc's are being made faster and smaller now-a-days, as the E70 is just a "messaging machine!" Even with that logic, how could anyone in their right mind overlook this handset? They're nuts I tell ya......
