E70 isn't working anymore..

Okay, so I had a bit of a drunk college night last night, and woke up this morning and my joystick on my e70-2 isn't working. Got the phone about a week ago. When I move the joystick around, it acts as if im pressing in the joystick. And up and down barely work at all. I didn't drop the phone (as far as I can remember) and I don't think I spilled anything. I'm gonna guess and say that I might be forgetting something though, cause the thing won't work at all.
So, question is, will nokia do an exchange? If I just say I don't know what happened (75% true)? Ordered from nokiausa (letstalk.com). Again, its only been 6-7 days since I got it.

Okay just called Nokia, I can send the phone in (repair place is in texas..) and it would take 7-10 days. And my cell phone is my only phone (no land line).. should they have offered to send a replacement phone?
 
Is there any way to take apart the main housing of the e70? I think I can just clean the joystick parts, if I can get the face off..
 
Hey, I just had the same/ very similar thing happen to my phone. The phone's only a week old and I definitely wasn't drunk, nor did I drop my phone when this happened. I did just upgrade my firmware like 3 days ago and it had been working fine. Strange. I wonder if it's a more systemic problem.
 
when my n73 got really messed up (on go-kart track) the joystick became really difficult to push in. I replaced the board myself and it's fine tho.
 
Yup, even reinstalled the firmware 3 times.
Sometimes after I restart, it will work for a while, but then it messes up again by itself after a while. Oh well... deciding whether to return it altogether and get a Dash, or just get it repaired.
 
Well, downloaded and run nokia software updater on my 3 week old e70-2 and sure enough, it bricked it.

On the phone with Nokia trying to figure out what to do next.
