E70-2 Cingular Users Questions

I love him.

I've been happily using a 6230b for the past couple years I picked up because of the positive things people here had to say about it. Along with just having an itch for a new phone, I'd like to be able to get my company email on my phone. Of course, it can't be easy. Only one group gets company Treos, and only company Treos are allowed to use the Goodlink setup our company has setup.

A whole handful of folks grabbed Blackjacks over the holidays, and with Xpress Mail are apparently able to get their mail just fine. Between the not so hot battery life and the fact that I just don't want to carry the same phone everyone else has I'm looking to do something different. It looke like the E70-2 from buy.com has everything I need. So, just want to confirm a couple things before I take the plunge on my first unlocked phone.

- Will I be able to use it with Xpress Mail the way the Blackjack users are to get their mail.
- Are there good AIM options out there, or is AOL's $20 client the best route to go? I figure I'll add media max to my account and having full-time AIM access on data would be another thing I'd like to have.

And finally, I've done a couple searches, but haven't seen much on this phone. Anyone particularly loving/hating it? Is it just obscure? What experiences have you had with it if you have one?

Yeah, you should be able to download the 'GOODLINK' software from www.businesssoftware.nokia.com (or something like that)

Also, AgileMessenger should be a good AOL alternative

Third, click on the link to my review (in my signature) for a pretty comprehensive review. There is another good one from 'JohnyBruha' in the Symbian forum that you should also check out for feedback.

goodlink and blackberry would probably work best. if you can get on your company's good server then all would be well. if you used a bis plan you could get email, but it woudn't sync calendar unless your company has a bes server.

Mods - Sorry I forgot to put this in the right forum.

I didn't explain well. The problem is, I'm not in the group that gets Treos, and consequently can not use the company good server. For whatever reason our IT refuses to allow any non-company phones to connect, and our operations only sees the one group that gets them as having any need for them. That's why I was intrigued by the Blackberry owners getting their mail via Xpress. I think they leave a client runnning on their PCs, leave their PCs on all the time, and then that syncs to the phone.

I've been using an e70 now for six months and love it. I use Mail for Exchange that goes into the exchange server at my university and it syncs mail, contacts, and calendar flawlessly. Blackberry connect works fine to. The phone is a gem.
