E65 users, callers sound quality

I've just bought an E65 and noticed that the sound of the callers voice isn't so clear as on the previous phones I've had. The callers voice seems to be a very bassy one, no high frequency at all. Does anyone else have similar problems?

I was pleasantly surprised with the call quality. Most of my other Nokia phones sound too high-pitched and annoying after a long conversation.

The E65 has a nice balance of bass and treble. Sounds a little like my old SE P900, which is a good thing.

I have used it for two days with heavy usage driving from NY to Philly and back noth yesterday and today. Good rf and great sound quality.

What carrier are you using??

I often have probs with phones with low earpiece volumes but have never had an issue with Nokia phones and the e65 is no exception.

Thanks.
I acctually had an issue with 6230, it was always on max. But 6230i sounded much louder. The loudest phone i had was that little cute 6100 which i still miss, may be it had more powerfull speaker dunno...

Actually I think that mine has too much bass and to little treble. Sometimes I have trouble of understanding what people are talikng to me , and sometimes it's great. Dunno what to think of it. But thanks for the answers ya all

E65 sounds great

Thanks guys/gals for all the answers, mine's going to the Nokia Service Center, see what they'll do with it. Shame I have to part with this otherwise great phone.

I took the phone to the Service Center on the 2nd, they told me to give them a call on the 9th, now on their internet site it says to call and check on the 13th, damn this, I hate the 6310i which I'm using now ehhhhhh, the wait is killing me, even more since I don't know if they'll fix it. Although I hope that the will cos the sent it to a more specialistic service (they only do firmware upgrade and simple parts exchange )

keeping my fingers crossed

Damn , I called the service guys and they told me they'll be sending the phone back to me, they didn't find any fault with it. We'll see, it might be the same as my watch, parts of the digits were dissapearing on the display and in the Warranty card they wrote that they changed the battery (stupid guys). This prevents me to claiming a new one as a batt exchange isn't a meaning repair (in our country if you have a meaning repair 3 times in a row they exchange the product to a new one). It might just be the same in case of my E65, they fixed it but said nothing was wrong , maybe I'll get it today, hope so at least. Can't get used to the old ones, used a 6310i for a week, now I'm using a 6170, good thing I have a spare phone.... This Polish Service Center is not good at all.
BTW this is the first Nokia cellphone which I had to take to any rapair, damn, damn, damn

PS Will let all of you know what's the outcome. Sometimes I think that I will go to court with the Local Nokia representative to claim my rights....

Well I got the phone back, the Service Center didn't do s**t about the problem and said there is none
It seems to be better though, the sound is more clear than it was before.
One more thing I noticed is that when you make the volume at max setting then the sound quality gets worse. Well it might be a firmware issue, if that's true then I hope Nokia will fix it with the next release

either way I'm still enjoying my E65, still the best phone I've ever had, there are only two things missing, a 330MHz processor and 3D hardware support but I guess I'll have to live with that.

br and thanks for the responses
