E65 Shortcut to Activate Silent Profile Not Working

I read in the manual that if you hold onto the "#" key, the phone will automatically activate the silent profile. However, when I hold onto the "#" key, the phone asks "Change outgoing phone line?" Is it suppose to do that? Am I doing anything wrong?
 
I have the same problem with the # key, but mine doesn't even offer the Line 1/2 option (which is more typical of a Series 40 handset), but others report that it's working just fine and dandy!

I'm not certain, but this anomaly appears to vary depending on the intended market for your handset, but apparently all the User Manuals indicate that the # key is a hot-key for the Silent Profile. Go figure.

All we can do is wait to see if a future FW update addresses the issue but, in the meantime, I just use the power switch to quickly change Profiles etc.

I have the same problem with my N80ie. Other people have said they can switch between profiles using the # key with no problem, but I just get the same outgoing line message that you do. I don't know why.
 
i got my phone in HK but it's not the HK version ..... it came with the charger that has two rounded plugs and French Manuals

the firmware that i am using is 1.0633.18.01 RM-208
