E65 Microphone not working?

Brand new E65 that I just got does not transmit my voice? My microphone not working? Makes and receives calls perfectly, but they cannot hear me on the other end. Tried to record a voice note, and complete mute sound. Is there a function on the phone that completely mutes it? Any way to enable it?

Well, there's the mute button, but it only works during calls. Try recording a movie?

I had the same problem but after restarting the phone everything was working fine since then.

I had the same problem on my unit. Unfortunately even after restarts and a hard reset the problem still persisted. I had to send the defective unit back, and should be receiving the new one this Friday. I guess there's a serious problem with this model.

aww man that sucks. wonder if nokia is going to fix that problem. Now gotta see if the supplier will take it back or not. hopefully!

i am not sure if this helps,
when i was getting mine, the sales tried 4 phones, all same problem(in Hong Kong flagship store) then the sales went up stair, and comes back with all 4 phones working. He said there is some setting with SIM card need to initialize. I forgot to ask him which setting, was too busy too choose best one out of 4 units...

sim card need to initialize? Weird, how do you do that? Also, the sim should already be registered since it doe recognize it and i can make and receive calls. transmits voice via headset as well.

not initialize SIM card. same case for me, i can call out/receive calls but there is not sound. then the sales quickly changed some setting, all 4 phones worked.

well here is my situation. i installed blackberry connect and after that i had trouble with
same problem you had. so i uninstalled it and its working fine.
im just guessing that it is some bug cause by BB software.

starting to get to me. Problem is still not resolved!

*#7370# doesn't even wipe anything! All the email info and everything is still on the phone.

What's the latest firmware out? And how would I go about updating it if i don't have the latest?

it is a bug. you can't completely reset the phone... not with the reset option or the numbers option, it will only reset the factory settings... no such thing as a clean reinstall... I wonder if opther nokia s60v3 phones do this, can you completely reset them?
My mike also sometimes doesn't work... I noticed once it was whil collecting a rather large email. I had to turn the phone on and off and it worked again...

hmm... seems to be a common problem with the e65's.... i wonder what's going on with that. i wonder if a new firmware update will fix it?

If I had a lemon I wouldn't wait until a firmware update comes out, I'd send it back the way it came pronto.

My replacement arrived, and I'm happy to report that the microphone is working fine. Actually it's working very well. The sound is pretty loud and clear, much better than my N80.
