E63 constantly turning off and on

I want to use my E63 but am having issues with it restarting all the time. I have done a master reset and the problem persists. Brand new sim card, don't see any updates hung up?? Hope someone can help me with this. :befuddled:befuddled

thanks

If turning off 3G stops the reboots, then you have 3 options.
1. leave 3g off.
2. find new firmware designed to cope with at&t.
3. replace phone with newer.

finally have the program seeing the phone, it is ready to load firmware version 501... now to get the phone to stay on long enough without shutting off. Does the code look right?

code 0576884010922s

No, the update needs to happen connected to a computer. Keep in mind that you will loose all data so you should back up items that you don't want to loose. Lock the device is GSM only mode and that will help keeping it on long enough to update.

OK so it updated something...but when it tried to install firmware 500..... it automatically disconnects. It looks as though it downloads the update then hangs when installation occurs. I'm gonna take a break and drink a pot of coffee, I need a break. Will hit it again in an hour or 2.

Ok tried restarting phone and computer, seems to download update then when installing it loses connection. After that it doesn't seem to reconnect. Firmware on the phone is version 100, is it too big of a jump for the phone trying to go to version 501?

IF it downloads but has a problem installing it, can I try and install the download without he PC. So far I haven't been able to find the download :(

I've had this problem on my E72 where the firmware downloads but then when the device restarts it looses the connection with the PC. The device restarting is a normal process during the update as it goes into a loader mode that the firmware can be copied to the device. Try doing the update on another PC, preferably one with WinXP on it and see if that helps. That's how I solved my issue. The jump from v100 to v501 is not the issue here.
