E62 & Video

I wanted to put Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie" video on my Nokia E62. I understand it supports mp4, 3gp, etc. I have only found the video in standard mpeg and one that said .3gp. However it would not play in the Nokia saying the format is not recognized.

So I decided to run the Nokia Multimedia Player on my PC and was able to open the standard mpeg and found I could "save as" and select .3gp or .mp4. When I did .3gp, it only converted 10 seconds of the 3:38 video. So I did a save as .mp4 and it converted the whole thing, however.... When I transfered it to my memory card on my phone, only the audio played, no video.

Thanks in advance

This seems to be a known problem with the E62; mine does the same thing. If you cut the video quality way, way down, you might be lucky and get a frame or two a second. Otherwise, you'll only see the first frame and then the audio.

I tried converting to DivX and using their player, but it's hardly any better. I'd sure like to see a firmware update address this, or at least hear of a workaround.

I've been playing around a bit and found if I run the Nokia media viewer and then open the video I like, save as a .3gp with no limit on size, it works fine. However, it can be a bit distorted I guess from the conversion. But it played smooth and halfway decent to watch.

I haven't tried the .mp4 again, but when it only showed audo, it was cut down on size so that might have been the problem. I assume selecting no limit would help with that format too.

I'd just like nice clear, smooth video like on my i-Pod and that is a mp4.
