E62 Lock Code

My sister bought an E62 from an eBay seller. After 5-weeks and no sign of the phone she sent complaints to the seller, eBay and Paypal. Finnaly got her E62 deliverd 6 weks later after leaving negative feedback.

Upon charging the battery and turning it on for the fist time, it keeps asking for a "Lock Code". I tried the default 12345 but that doesn't work....obviously changed by the seller. I suggested to my sister to contact the seller for the code, but after getting "spanked" with neg feedback and complants through Paypal, I'm sure that the seller won't reply.

Is there anyway to hard-rset or bypass the "Lock Code"? I don't care if it dumps any/all existing data storred on the phone...in fact I'd prefer that everything would reset to out-of-the-box factory default config.

Am I screwed or can this be used?

There is no master reset for the lock security code on the Nokia E62 phone the only way to reset te code is to send it to Nokia and have them flash the software and then it will reset to factory defaults of 1234

Post the listing or seller's ID here so that people can watch out for him/her. As posted above, you will likely have to reflash the phone to get the code. Now, I am not sure if it's like Motorolas where by there are several free software out there that will show the coe once you connect the phone to a computer.

Any clue on how best to contact Nokia? I'd rather skip Cingular all together....I just don't want to find out it's s stolen phone and/or service providers tend to be clueless in regards to what and how to flash the phone.

I'm trying to be "nice" to the seller first, even though I (my sister) gave him negative feedback. The easiest solution is to get the code from him.

I looked at the seller's feedback and other items for sale to judge if he is a scammer. The Nokia just happened to be the only phone among a variety of personal junk he's selling....he's not an exclusive phone seller nor experienced eBayer with only 20-some ebay sales....Probably why it took him over 4+ weeks to ship it as he's clueless on how to be a successful seller. I do know that the phone was originally purchased from LetsTalk.com as it came in the original box with the letstalk sticker on it. So it was probably a free phone that he used until he bought/got another phone elsewhere. The phone has NO signs of wear so I'm sure it was used for a very short time.

I'll wait the week out for his response them I'll pot his eBay ID after that.
