E62/E61 - Allow access to network message

Ok i've looked this up, but is there ANYWAY possible to get rid of this message, "Allow access to XXXX to network and data blah blah" everytime you use an application to access the network? Every time I try to use Widsets, Opera Mini, Gmail Mobile, Nokia Search, I get that darn message.

Any easy fix, anything?!?! It's the most annoying thing about this phone and if I would have known about it before hand I never would have purchased.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (SymbianOS/9.1; U; en-us) AppleWebKit/413 (KHTML, like Gecko) Safari/413)

There has only been one application that works without having to allow access every two seconds and that was Opera Mobile but it is not free. Isnt there some sort of firmware update or something that can get rid of this message?

Wish it were that easy, but you only get two choices to either set the connection to 'Not Allowed' or 'Ask the first time' (and this one is available for Multimedia, not the actual connection to whatever your using) so it's useless.

Any other suggestions, or at least something that users can do with this thing so you don't get prompted every two seconds?

Anyone have an update on this? Am I the only one that tries to use applications and gets annoyed by this message? Most applications become unusable because of this message every two seconds.

Thanks.

This is only a problem for java apps. Native Symbian (those ending in .sis) do not have the same issue. Cingular implemented this in the firmware so that developers would be encouraged to get their apps certified with Cingular. Unbranded models do not have this issue.

That being said, for a while there was a loophole in Nokia's NSU firmware updater that allowed you to "reapply" a firmware. Using this loophole you could change the product code of your E62 to an unbranded one and then tell NSU to reapply the unbranded firmware over your Cingular firmware.

However, Nokia has since updated NSU to not do the whole reapplying thing, so for now, you're SOL unless you get an unbranded handset, or send your E62 to Evan @ iUnlock.com to get it unbranded. I've used him several times, he does good work.

If you're really interested, I've recently sold my unbranded (but Cingular locked) E62 to drewyehboi here on the forums, you might PM him to see if he wants to sell/trade it.

If youve got opera 8.65 for symbian 3rd ed delete file viger with x-plorer, unlimited us and no pop ups. I just got my e61 today with updated firmware in it. Works like a champ. Take that cingular junk back just like I did. There will be no regrets. EVERTHING is better!!

Cingular's version is worse, since it asks you constantly, but even on my unbranded e61 I run into this with java apps... luckily it only asks the first time (Gmail mobile, for example, asks every time I open it).

[This is only a problem for java apps.] It's a problem for S60v3's own web browser. I've never found a way to bypass the prompt "Connection to server needed. Connect?" I can't see the point of it. When I start the browser, of course I want to connect to the server. Sure, once in a while I might just want to edit my bookmarks. Also perhaps Nokia is concerned about accidental keypresses. But it should be simple to include an option in Settings like "Prompt to connect?"
