E62 - add new themes, ringtones, videos - firmware?

hi all,

i got one of these for free and while it's a great entry level phone, there are somethings are not so easy.

1. how do i get new themes on it? I tried via the Nokia software and putting themes i downloaded from various sites, but I keep getting a certificate error. any help?

2. is there another browser i can use that is faster than the one supplied? does thumbnail feature belong to the browser, or is that an OS level item? if so, is it supported in Opera?

3. are there any firmware update benefits, say for example removing the cingular branding? if so, how is this done? urls, notes, etc.

4. does this phone have an automatic keypad lock? if so how?

5. does this phone support a VNC browser? if so, which one(s) are good?

how do i remove crappy themes once I've installed them?

go to menu->settings-> app. mgr. There you will see your installed themes as well as installed apps. Select theme you want to uninstall -> left soft key(options) -> remove.

also, when I sync my outlook calendar to the phone, the body of the message doesn't transfer to the phone - is there any way to fix that?

If it is a fast browser you are after, you shoiuld try Opera Mini. That is the Java version of the opera browser, but has the advantage that it compresses content before it is downloaded on your phone, making it faster and cheaper to use if you pay per mb downloaded. Opera Mini is free. download it here (with the Nokia "services" WAP browser):

The full Opera browser is not free, but in my opinion it is better than the Nokia S60 browser. It is faster, and consumes less memory then the S60 browser. Too high memory consumption is occationally a problem with the S60 browser.

This phone has not automatic keypad lock. You should download some application for it. For example, Mlock or HandyKeylock.
