Hi everyone,
Can any of you expert phone users help me to decide what phone I should get ?
I am using the first generation of City Fido - Toronto, "Talk til your brain hurt" package.
With the new Blackberry service being offered by Fido as of March of this year, I am looking for a new phone that allows me to send and receive emails on the go, as well as to replace my MPX-220. (Had it for 2 years now, and never get the internet / MSN to work on Fido network !)
Here are my deciding factors:
Nokia:
E61:
- Unlocked
- Not sure if it can be configured to use all its features on Fido
- Warranty may be an issue
E62:
- Its a Fido device, so the CSRs can help me to configure it. (I hope)
- No WiFi because Fido disabled it.
- Warranty is NOT an issue because Fido will at least guarantee for a year.
- I can always call Fido *611 for technical support
Blackberry Pearl (Unlocked):
- Its a RIM, so the BB feature will work properly. (I think ?)
- Not sure if it can be configured on the Fido network, BB service though
- It has a camera built in and the phone looks slim and cool
- Warranty maybe an issue
TyTN (Unlocked):
- No BB feature.
- Not sure if it can be configured on Fido network to receive emails. (POP)
- I like the touch screen feature. I can replace my Palm m505 with it.
- Warranty maybe an issue.
I am not an advance user and I don't really know how to configure the phone from the articles on this site. I tried with my MPX-220 for the past two years but with no success. I ended up using it just for phone, calendar and to-do list.
Thanks in advance for your help and advice.
Cheers !
