E61 using in Japan and S. Korea

For those on the road: I have now made the much anticipated trip to South Korea and Japan with the E61, after many trips, equipped with Windows Mobile software and no telephone/gprs connection.
I can report positive: Phone worked great in Seoul, roaming with KTF, but KTF offers no GPRS and I had some issues sending/receiving SMS
Japan is all success: upon landing, the unit immediately connected to DoCoMo and roamed flawlessly using GPRS and with my exchange server.

All this using T-Mobile US as my home provider.
 
No GPRS? There must at least be WiFi networks around the city, right?

I'm especially interested in this as I'm going to Seoul over the Christmas holiday, and was hoping to use another 3G handset there...
 
Slightly off topic:
My N80 works with GPRS just fine off the plane in Pyongyang. I pick up the China Mobile signal from across the border in China and I can even video call.
 
In response to South Korea question: yes, there are many WiFi spots around the city of Seoul, my Hotel, the Westin Chosun was WiFi'ed open network around the building. But the roaming partner for T-Mob is KTF, they do NOT offer GPRS transmission. So you will need to find alternate ways to sync your email, WiFi will be your only other alternative.
