E61 on Mac as a BT modem

I am doing this right now, but with an N80 and I used the generic Nokia IR script. I am on ATT so I left everything the same, and it worked. I had to use *99***1# though. Seems kinda slow too, I might switch scripts later, see if thats any faster. Hate to fix whats not broken though.

Folks,

I get occasional success using the E61 as a modem for my MacBook Pro with UMTS on T-Mobile UK, having installed the proper scripts. It seems to conflict with BB Connect, and the only way to get it to work is to restart the phone and open the connection before BB Connect starts up.

Does anyone else have this problem, and is there a workaround?

Cheers

Toby

seems to be working fine here. the unlocked E61 is a fantastic beast! apart from the nagging problems with Symbian's handling of J2ME and Bluetooth, its a great tool to have

Having an installer, support and less time getting it to work ;-)

For the E61 as a modem: Download the demo of launch2net at http://www.novamedia.de/launch2net . We have several T-Mobile settings already preinstalled so you can go online instantly ...

You can just manually shut off BB connect (email settings, Blackberry, something, its in there) - if your E61 is running 3.0x firmware (with the appropriate corresponding BB connect version) its really easy to shut off (and turn back on) BB connect.

push the Symbian button (ying-yang thing) to get into the menu->blackberry->settings->Blackberry service on/off

hope that helps

if you have T-Mobile and Blackberry Connect, look for the Blackberry 8100 modem settings for Mac that are floating around. They worked for me when the Nokia 3G ones didn't.
