E61 & BT GPS Help

I just received a holux 236 slim and cannot get any gps software to recognize it. I can pair it with my phone but tomtom6 for example says no gps device! Is there something I am missing?

Do you have to configure BT com ports or is that just for WM5? Shouldn't the nokia built in gps atleast be plug and play? Perhaps I have a defective unit?

I have the exact same GPS and it works fine for me in wayfinder and the built in navigator app..

Are you pairing the device with your phone and setting it to "authorized" so it can make connections automatically?

Go to Bluetooth configuration and add a new device. The default passcode is 0000.

Hope that helps. If you are still stuck post back.

In tom tom, go into the change preferences, show gps status, configure and select other bluetooth gps receiver. I think it is set to a tom tom gps?

Using it can be a little tricky from time to time (It fails to connect and I don't know why), But I use a Holux GPSlim 236 with TomTom 6 on my E61. Trust me, it does work!

I will keep playing around with it a bit. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something and it seems that I am not. I did buy it used so I may be beating a dead horse.
