E61 broken joystick!what do i do?

well now its worse. i dont even have to touch the joystick and it starts scrolling like crazy. i cant depressing the joystick does nothing. how the hell can i even flash the phone if i cant select what mode i want the phone to connect to the pc?

well my phone is working now but i don't trust it and sure as hell cant count on it . I got home and flashed my phone with the latest firmware. about 3 minutes into configuring my phone it started scrolling again like crazy. i took out the battery and put it right back in. i spent 1 hr configuring my phone and installing apps and all seems to be working fine. the fact that it still scrolled like crazy after the update tells me that the problem can return. i have learned an important lesson. backing up data to a phone that dies is worthless because if i can never restore the phone with the back up file my data is still lost. for now on im syncing my calendar with my exchange server.
