It suggests that there's a special battery cover for the E50 that allows for a BL-6C battery. Only thing I can't figure out is where to buy that cover. Any hints?

And while we're on the topic of the BL-6C, I went ahead and ordered a cheap one off ebay, mainly just to test it out for size. For $5 US shipped, did I get a counterfeit? The seller had pretty good feedback, and no negative feedback suggesting he was pushing counterfeit stuff.

What's the deal with these double threads? Whatever. I'm not even going to point them out anymore.

Did you try to just fit the battery in there anyway? The 6630, 6620, N70, and 668x weren't supposed to be able to fit them either, but I managed to do it on my 6630 and N70 without disrupting any functionality.

That's what I expected, but Nokia's own accessory pages don't link to one.

If the battery just fit as-is, I didn't think they'd specify that a special cover would be needed. My E50 will be back from RMA tomorrow, and I should have the BL-6C tonight from ebay.

I suppose I could always go the electrical tape route to keep the battery in, but I'd rather not use a hillbilly solution for such a nice device. Maybe if it was a Motorola.

If you take that rubber piece off underneath the battery cover, the battery will apparently fit. I don't feel like trying this, though.

Oh and angelwing. AWOL = away without leave, a term often used in a military setting :>

I have emailed nokiausa and nokia uk and ireland about the battery cover and none of them can help

I did install an oem bl-6c battery and removed the foam on the inside of the cover and everything fits normally

All OEM Nokia batteries have a hologram on the label. From the manual:

Authentic Holograms show the nokia connecting hands symbol from one angle and the nokia original enhancements logo when lokking from another angle.

When you angle the hologram left, right, down, and up, you should see 1, 2, 3, and 4 dots on each side respectively

Scratch the side of the label to reveal a 20-digit code

You can check if its legit by going to nokia.com/batterycheck
