Anybody tried this yet? I just got a BL-6C and it is just marginally thicker than the stock BL-5C, but enough that the battery cover wont close. I'm going to take out the black pad inside the battaery cover and see if that works. But first gotta find some superglue in case it isnt gonna fly and I have to put the pad back!

Anybody actually tried the mod?

If possible only try to take out some of the corners (just the black plastic) see if you can do that. however, be very careful not to hit any metal, which lies about 0.3 -0.4 mm
If you do hit metal than seal it.

There is no foam to remove in the corners of the battery cover - just two small pads on the inside of it.

Are you talking about shavning plastic off of the BL-6C battery itself?

No, I am talking about the actual battery. Not the phone. Obviously try removing the pads of the cover but if it does not work than you are going to tray to file some of the plastic off the battery corners.

Just to close the circle on the issue, the BL-6C does fit comfortably. Sandeep confirmed for me that removing the larger rectangular pad allows BL-6C to sit perfectly in the phone. I tried it with my phone and it works fine.

My initial impression is that the phone is of course marginally thicker and a tad bit weightier. But stills slvelte compared to N73 or anything similar.

I had gotten 2 solid days of usage out of the BL-5C on my first charge and still had bar or two left on the battery meter before I removed the it for this experiment. Will see how much longer I can get on the BL-6C.
