E50 - New Firmware 06.41.3.0 available via NSU

I think it's a local network problem. I'm located in Illinois and the 'E' showed up on my phone when I'm using Opera Mini, Google Maps, and MWeather.

Oh the change log it states that it has 'SMS accelerator and other improvements ' does that mean I don't need to have the SMS_accelerator application on my phone any more? Or should I still keep it?

Sure and i hope it will help the bug that we have in the earpeice that it gets hot while on a call

I have not noticed any new problems after the firmware update. Except that some of the ones that should have been fixed are not yet fixed. In a way it is ok, I can keep experimenting with themes / software and by the time the next firmware comes in a couple of months, will update and only install what I like/works.

Wow, today I just got my first memory full problem and I was just sending SMS. Hm, but yeah I don't hear any of that popping noise, my earpiece does heat up and the stupid bluetooth problem.

My memory card problem was solved thanks to Zahorijs post at www.s60tips.com

Yes, thanks that certainly helped very much thank you again.

Hi,
just got new E50 (w/o camera) rm-171 with fw 06.27.1.0.
I know people have posted they can get new firmware... I just tried connecting wiht the updater and get 'no firmware for your phone'...

Any ideas, did the fw get pulled?

Dare I venture to say that the earpiece heating up issue also has reduced? It is also not making the funny pop noise when disconnecting a call, similar to the speakerphone bug, so hopefully that has got resolved too. Gmail is also connecting fine now, but I yet don't see the 'E'.

Also when I connected it again through NSU, it said I already have the latest firmware and would I like to install it again. This is real nice, anytime I want, I now get a new factory format phone!

does all the nokia e50 comes with the problem of earpeice getting hot or some phone only i want to buy the phone but holding back due to that problem only any advice on this will be gr8

I dont have this problem on my my metal black which came with the latest firmware, and I didnt have it on the silver one either.

Nor the speakerphone "bug", which I wonder if it came from people hitting the wrong key when the options change in call-waiting vs new call.

I think the hot earpiece is on some phones as the problem never came up for my phone even before the firmware update. Don't know if the new firmware fixed that but the more annoying problem for me is that the phone will make random clicks/pops during calls. However it is rectified by the new firmware and the sound quality is great now.
