E-TTL II Off Camera Flash Sync Cord OR RF-602 Flash Trigger Receiver?

I currently own a Canon EOS 550D and just bought a Canon Speedlite 430EX II. I am looking to use it as an off camera flash (for portrait, and mostly anything I would need it for), but I don't know whether to go wired or wireless. Wired I get E-TTL II (do I really need it?) but I also get an annoying cable (I hate cables). Or I could go wireless, the one i found is not E-TTL II compatible (but its cheap), but it can be used as a remote trigger as well, would would help a lot for night photography. I found them both with about $10 price difference with the two, so its not the price, just which one would be best.
Thanks A Lot!
