E Mule Its Slow

I got adsl 2.5 mbit. And get slow downloads too. But if you want something kazaa aint got then i guess youll have to wait 5 hour before d/l begin

Maybe it's just me, but I think folks come from KL to eMule expecting the networks to be mirrors of each other. That's why they complain about slow speeds.

On KL u do best to concentrate on a small number of dl and max ur speed. On eMUle u load 20 or 30 dl and max ur speed that way. If ur always dl, who cares if it takes a couple of days to get a file. With 20 or 30 constant dl u've got more movies and music than u can listen to in a month. Heck, if u can't wait the couple of days, go to the video store and actually rent the movie.

connect to some of the chinese severs like CHN or chinnese no1 edonkey server.
or try the korean ones. a decent one is jika movie server...i havent checked if that is still there. ppl with like 10mbp are on these servers and you can get really good speeds once you have connected to some of these guys. also try adding CHN or KOR or Niguo in your name...this can help you get more sources on the servers i have gone on about.
Emule requires patience...sharing and time! lol

good luck!

eMule is slow when you first start out. KOTOR took over a hour to finally connect to someone. then it was only one CD. and i was only getting 2.5kbs. if i was a eMule n00b i would have uninstalled it right then.

But i know that when i wake up im getting 15-40kbs on all 4 CDs because i waited in cue for 8 hours.

The key to fast downloads on eMule is , wait a week after the file is out on eMule before you start downloading. you have many more people seeding it then.

And right click on your download an put the priority on High. And go into shared folder , right click and put the file you want the most on Release. that will upload it more. hence you get placed higher in cue and have faster downloads.

you could just download it as it is released. That'll mean you'll seed it to others and gain credits, which is just as quick :)
Ideally, configurations should be good, and your patient.

I do download them as they are released, because i dont freak out if i dont get my files in 12 hours.

Some people act like they sit at thier PCs tapping their foot and chain smoke while they watch their "slow" downloads and complain ITS TOO SLOW.

Get your ass in cue. turn off your monitor and go have a life. you will get your files corruption free and in a few days if you just stay connected 24 hours a day.

I have seen people beg for files for two weeks on kazaa. then when you tell them its on eMule, they say eMule is too slow. but yet they would rather beg for a sig2dat for weeks rather than getting the file from eMule in a few days

it shouldnt matter which server you are connected to. If the sources needed for a file are on a certain server, you will eventually connect to them.

After you share and upload it may improve since its based on the rewards system...
No thanks..i just installed Shareaza and the speeds are Awesome...even better what i get on KLite

I'm starting to like Shareaza just because i can use Bittorrent with it.

You just need to be patient people!!!

Geez... speaking of "I want it all now!"

And to think I used to download 700 MB iso's with dial up.

Speed will pick up, you just need to wait a little bit until you get to the top of the queues...

I'm downloading pricne of persia right now and getting 40 k/sec... nothing near to my usual 200~250 k/sec, but why complain? after all you're getting it for free, don't like it? go somewhere else.

I don't mean to be harsh, I just sometimes don't understand how ungrateful people can be...

make sure speeds are in KB and not kb as most people think they are similar and believe they get faster speeds but in fact slower (they are displayed differently ...aka 1KB = 8kb.. so default shareaza settings are in kb i think, if shareaza speeds are like 16kb and kazaa is like 3KB, kazaa's speed is faster since 16kb/8=2KB, and 3KB*8=24kb .....notice the kb and KB.)
