Hi there,

I'm currently a T-Mobile customer, and have the T-Mobile Dash with the full internet plan. I've had the Dash for about five months now, and while I like the phone, it's lacking in some areas - mostly battery life and stability (comes with the Windows Mobile platform v5 which is good, but still isn't particularly stable).

For the most part, I use the phone just as I would a blackberry, as it's mainly for e-mailing and making calls on the road, but occasionally I use the audio player (when I can't find my iPod) and the web browser (which is so-so, but not great).

I'm getting a bit fidgety, and would like to get a phone with similar features, but would prefer not to use something on the Windows Mobile/Windows Smartphone platform again.

Currently, I'm really liking what I've read about both the Blackberry Pearl and the Sony Ericsson k790a (the 800 doesn't work as well with T-Mo from what I've read). Qwerty keyboards excluded, I'd love to hear your opinions on which of the two is better, and also if you have any other suggestions that fit the bill.

I should probably add that I'm a mid-atlantic (Maryland) customer and I'm looking to stay below the $500 range for the new phone. Thanks.
 
I'm a long-time PPC/Smartphone user - own a Dash but am trying out the Pearl due to mail2web's problems with their push email service. I posted a few thoughts here yesterday (curently the last post) that may be of use to you:

Go for N73 Internet Edition. Don't know how much it would cost you to get one in Maryland though..
 
I would not recommend pearl due to the keyboard (I prefer the regular phone keyboard over the stupid QWERTY wannabe) but I'd love to wait for BB 8320/8800 T-Mobile with full keyboard
 
get the bb8700 it's so much better then the pearl just beacause the pearl lacks the intel cpu which makes it slow and the full kb and the cam on the pearl is worthless. their only a few differences from the 8800 to the 8700 which is gps, trackball (trackwheel is better unless your a lefty) and the design. if you gonna surf the net just dl mini opera and use that on your phone
