The other day I filled out one of those e-mail surveys that friends send to each other (I'm sure we've all gotten them...They ask questions about your full name, nicknames, number of pets, etc.). When I got to a question that asked "Best Friend?", I put down my actual best friend's name: the one I've known since grade school, who knows the most about me, who I spend the most time with, who understands me the most...you know, your best friend. I sent out the completed survey to my usual recipients, and didn't think twice about it. Today, though, I got a response from one of my other friends, whom I see no more than ten minutes a day at school (it's like my "scheduled" time with her, ten minutes inbetween two of our classes...she has so many friends its almost like you have to make an appointment to see her), with her distressingly writing, "I'm not your best friend any moreee??? :(:("
I don't know what to say to that. She obviously doesn't consider me her best friend. For that "Best Friend?" question on her survey, she wrote, "I have a lot of friends, but no best friend". I mean, really?? She's referred to me as her best friend before to me, but I don't consider her my best friend. I mean, she really doesn't know me. I don't want to hurt her feelings and say "No, you aren't" but I don't know what else to do! Helpp??
