E-50, Has anyone changed the housing yet?

I have a black trim E-50 and I'm thinking about getting the black housing and keypad. Has anyone tried changing their housing yet?
 
I will as soon as it's available on another site other than the German one floating around. Do you know of it anywhere else?
 
yup! I'm holding out until cnn.cn carries it. But if you order it and it's a success then I'll probably jump on board as well. Kind of expensive though for some cheap plastic parts. I'll let you be the guinea pig however
 
So did you already take the plunge or just debating it? I found a site that shows the dissasembly of the E50 for faceplate removal. I'll look for it and post it if I can find it. Should have bookmarked it Damnit
 
Searched for the site last nite and came up empty. I actually stumbled upon it when i wasnt looking for it and forgot to bookmark it. It was a non-english speaking site is all I remember. From what I remember though, the photos made it look very simple. I remember a time when I used to take apart every phone I had and there were no pics of dissasembly so i'll take my chances with this regardless. Seems simple enough just by looking at it and the extra parts to make it totally black are minimal. Nothing critical needs to be removed for the most part. Anyway, you give it your best shot and remember to post pics of your T and E!
 
The faceplate is extremely easy to remove. Just lift under the top where the power button is and pull off. The colored trim is made onto the faceplate so make sure that you grab under the trim.
 
trust me I took mine off like 20 times it didn't break.

Which reminds me, I think that it was you loveanh and I that had the disagreement about the front being metal. Take off the front faceplate and you will see why I just can't believe that it is metal.
 
nope...he's banned!........hmmm...now that's a good question because I just looked at his name and it says he's 'on'. Guess he's just trying to see if we bad mouthed him while we thought he was banned.

I want to order one since I hate the Chinese keystrokes on my keypad, but I'm a little hesitant about ordering from that site. Anyone have any experience with them?
