I'm normally very careful and try and buy DVRAB when i'm desperate to get them but a while ago I was looking through the DVD section at woolworths and I saw about a boy on dvd for

I've bought a lot of my DVRAB that way. I'm a sucker for good packaging or a good boxed set or just a good in-store offer and tend to buy the things that catch my eye whether I've seen the thing before or not. I don't think I've ever regretted buying a DVD and love all of my collection. I'm definitely less picky buying DVRAB than I used to be with VHS.

good topic..

Erm Lookin Italian.. Starring Matt le blanc.. good film bought it for a fiver is excellent

and spooks the tv series, s1 on dvd bought that and had never seen it.

i bought Dog Day Afternoon because it was cheap and it turned out to be a good film. I bought it mostly because it has Al Pacino in it but it was a wise investment.

'Pirates of the Carribean', to he quite honest this film never really interested me. But I thought "what the heck..........". now I'm glad I bought it!

I had rented Donnie Darko but I didnt really bothered watching it properly.... then about half a year later I was just compelleed to buy it, and now its one of my faves.

Anyone bought any DVRAB without seeing them beforehand and was dissapointed? I bought Ned Kelly and have only seen it twice! phht.

It's not a dvd (and as far as i'm aware it's not even out on R2 dvd) by i got Kevin Smith's 'Clerks' for a couple of quid on VHS a while back. Never seen it, been looking for it for ages and stumbled across it in a sale (when i was skint, and had to scrape together the money with coppers!), and what a film it was.

Would buy it on DVD if it ever comes out as well.

As I said on another thread, I can't believe that Clerks hasn't had a Region 2 release yet. Kevin Smith DVRAB are generally poor in the UK though so even if it did come out it would probably be disappointing. The Mallrats R2 only has a trailer yet the R1 has tons of extras. Dogma is poor compared to the R1 double disc too. If you ever get the chance you should get the R1 Clerks DVD. It has a great commentary and some interesting alternate scenes.

Mallrats has been re-released on R2 with all the same extras as the R1. The only thing missing is the ability to watch the video of the commentary, which is only a minor gripe.

As for Clerks, there will be a new 10th Anniversary Edition coming soon which supposedly will also include the pilot of the ill-fated live action 90's TV series.

Returning to the topic, Idle HanRAB and Bubba Ho-Tep were both good buys that I knew sod-all about.

Unfortunately, i can't say the same about the Lord of the Rings animated movie. What a stinker!

October Sky...I'd just bought my DVD player and found it in the bargain box...Bought it purely because it was cheap and waned something to try my player on (And the story sounded quite good on the box-but don't they always???).

It's become one of my top 5 movies of all time..a great storyline and not a single bit of bad language throughout..

I bought "Being John Malcovich" like that because I'd heard so many glowing reviews, and the premise sounded like something I'd enjoy. How wrong was I? :( Pants, IMO.

Pirates of the caribbean - the kiRAB i babysit for told me it was good - now i love it

Pearl Harbour - bought only because Josh Hartnett is in it - it is one of my fave ever films
