DVD stuck in DVD TV combo. Need help getting it out.?

I put a DVD in the player and now it won't work. It's spinning but not reading anything and won't eject the DVD. IS there a way to get the DVD out without A) ruining the DVD and B) tearing the whole unit apart? PS the DVD hasn't been seen before it's brand spanking new.
 
Yes, you should first try turning it off and then back on. If that doesn't work, then try to get your fingers in and around the tape. Usually the tape is caught on something it was spinning around on. And last, you may have to take the dvd apart. But let's hope not.
