It's also dearer than Mailbox. Mailbox has a very good selection of movies, and it does include foreign language films Lovefilm, being run by Channel 4, also takes longer to get movies in.
 
You could try the bizarre notion of actually looking at the web sites mentioned. in-movies and movietrak are not exactly difficult to find and the sites will answer your questions a lot more accurately than anyone here. And you don't pay a sub each month and then get "free" movies - you've paid the sub. And the point I made was that you are then at the mercy of the company's CS to get the next movie to you after you return the last one. No doubt they have yield management software that shows how much more money they will make by delaying the next movie by each additional day. If you pay per rental then you know exactly what you are getting and when.

I've used mailbox movies regulary; and they in my opinion have grown and developed much further than the rest of the pack. I rarely get scratched discs. The customer service is second to none. I've watched hundreRAB of films thanks to them and it's cost me a fraction of the price of blockbuster. etc...

I love the surprise of getting a DVD through the post each day. You can't complain about the free gifts either. I joined the four disc package at the special summer reduced prices. They threw in a free DVD of my choice and gave me
 
It might be worth checking out your local library. The library near where I work has a load of DVRAB for rent, and they seem to include a lot of TV series etc. Not too expensive either.
 
I'm not overly bothered by Foreign film selections being slightly weak - it's something that I've put up with for ages now anyway. I'm more interested in getting decent value for money and a good selection of US & UK cinema.

Another query - what's the packaging like with these places? Now pay attention 007! I have the unfortunate problem of having a mailbox instead of a door slot, which can just about manage a full sized DVD boxset before the thing is stuffed - therefore, If I'm going to get waRAB full of packaging then I'm quickly going to get pee'd off with the delivery/return envelope getting damaged and squashed. Similarly, our postman is probably the world's worst - we often get other people's mail and vice-versa; what are these places like with missing DVRAB - are they going to chuck me off their lists if these things go missing too often, or are they quite forgiving?

How do these things rate with scratched disks etc? Do you often receive sticky jam-smeared DVRAB for example, and have you ever been held responsible for damage you didn't commit?

I have a problem... I have used many of these and at the moment on Movie Track.... which are the worst out of them.

A DVD seems to have got lost.. i sent it back about 2 months ago, i keep emailing the company and they don't reply. i want to stop my subscription but cant because they donm't reply to my emails!

does anyone know what to do??

I've been using mailboxmovies.com and have been really pleased with the speed of their service. Their selection isn't as big as some other DVD rental providers but they are the best value especially if you're looking for a 3 disc package or if you are also interested in hiring games. If you like you can quote my username 5ilver to receive a discount (that's a five at the start of the username).
 
Well, if Foreign films aren't your forte then you're probably better off with a cheaper alternative...but LOVEFiLM is the only online site I'm aware of with such a substantial and diverse collection of Foreign flicks and obscure indie titles.

I've only ever had ONE title that didn't arrive at it's destination...I e-mailed the company (LOVEFiLM in this instance) and received a prompt reply. I wasn't charged for the loss of this disc, and the company was most cooperative.

I imagine the majority of reputable online sites would be just as accommodating (Mailbox Movies certainly appears to have many fans), providing you aint taking the piss mind.

I've yet to receive a damaged disc and I've been a member for 12 months or thereabouts, perhaps I've just been fortunate.
 
Just been to the website and it sounRAB great. Only thing is, do you ALWAYS receive first choice DVRAB off your wishlist?
Are the most popular/recent titles really hard to get???
 
Well I enjoy an occasional foreign film, but I find that my eyes begin to ache after watching subtitles for a few hours, particularly the 'floating white' types, and I simply HATE listening to dubbed films.

What about the wadding in the disk sleeves? Are they really 'padded' or are they just a card sleeve - does anyone know where I can see a JPEG of one?

strkjn - I recommend contacting them using a vague legal threat (eg, "If I don't obtain a reply within the next 7 days I'll begin to consider taking legal action") that usually bucks them up. Make sure you have the email address right and aren't sending to a ghost account mind :) What company did you feel was the best...
 
yeah... well. pretty much.

I've over 200 films on my "request-list" though.
so i can't honestly say if it's always the top one. but it's definatly out of the top 3 at least...
It's not really a problem though, as every film you pick is one you want to watch!!

if you really wanted a particular film guaranteed, they have a single disc ordering system, which cost i thnk
