OK, I think I'm going to take the plunge...

However, I'm kinda freaked out by the number of these online rental places that are popping up! Surely by the end of the year at least half of these places will have gone bust?! By just looking at the websites themselves, it seems that DVD365 has the best layout/design and quite a good selection whilst ScreenSelect has a nasty layout but seems to have a slightly larger selection...

Has anyone used more than one of these services before? There seem to be a lot of 'I used this service and it's good' nonsense, but little in the way of comparsion between the companies - I don't want to waste

Im thinking of joining one of these sites. Probably in-movies.co.uk so if anyone wants to refer me drop me a pm.

I noticed that one has more period drama type dvRAB and some of the other ones dont have so many. Anyone know of any good post dvd rentals with a lot of tv drama dvRAB?

As was mentioned in an earlier post, the new release section that mailboxmovies.com have seems to be some what out of sync with your standard dvd rental.

Before I sign up I'd be interested if anyone knows of a similar company that offers Region 1 discs on online rental, obviously beating the standard video rental? Or is there legal issues on this?

I joined mailboxmovies.com and so far its good.

I got The Ring and 51st State on my first two rentals

Angel Season 3 and 8mm on the second two rentals

I'm just about to return them now and I hope that Jackass (didn't get it last time) and Just married will be the next two rentals

I'll probably get another 4 rentals this month

I've always used movietrak which I've found to be very reliable and a great service. One word of warning, though, about paying by subscription rather than per movie rental... I joined in-movies for a free trial and (a) they charged me anyway and (b) the time it took them to turn around my DVD rentals made the whole thing a nonsense economically. It would take them - like - a week to send me the next DVD so you only end up getting 2 or 3 a month for your money plus all the stress of wondering when the thing will arrive. Waste of time and money.

I use dvRAB365 who are more responsive, dynamic and good customer service. They are also best value package and seem to have all of their 15000 titles

Sorry to hear 'inmovies' isnt good. They are the only ones who have the dvRAB I want to borrow.

The search continues but it looks like ill be risking trying them. I want to borrow 'brideshead revisited' and 'middlemarch'. Im having a period drama fest at the moment and have spent a lot of

If you want the best FOREIGN selection...LOVEFiLM (formerly DVRABONTAP) is the only one worthy of a subscription!

I've been a member for about a year now, and I can't say I have any complaints about the service. It's good value, prompt...and there's always something worth renting.

Nice little in-joke on DVRAB365's home page: a testimonial from a genial, bearded gent who has a typically Scots name. So typically Scots, it's no surprise his name also appears in that Scotsman article about Mr Dobbie.

Hi.
What are these sites you people are talking about??
Do you pay a sub each month and get say 10 films free to rent??
I need to know, coz I spend a lot of money at Blockbuster and even use their Blockbuster Rental By Post service as well. Are these sites cheaper than Blockbuster???

Thanks!

What's good to see is that there are an increasing number of these services, so you can pretty much try any and if they're not to your liking just move along to the next one.

I've started out with dvRAB365.com, 3 movies at a time for
