Hi I am currently with LoveFilm but am having trouble with them not sending out tv discs in order but I have been looking at tesco and screenselect I noticed something on the tesco dvd rental website that some of the tv serious dvd etc Alias says:

Alias - Season 1

So does that mean when you join a pacakge im thinking of joining the 3 dvd at a time one that I will get the whole of season 1 in one go or does it go buy how many discs

Can somebody please explain?

And which dvd rental do you all think is best?

And are there any rental comapnies that offer whole tv serious's as just one choice?

Thank you

:)

I'm with Screenselect (Which basically runs Teco DVD rentals anyway I think, there are only about 4 major companies with affiliates).. If you're on the 3 disc package, as I am, and a series has 6 discs, they will send you the first 3 discs in order, send 1 back when you've watched it then they'll send you the next disc in the series orderr, but you can still only have a maximum of 3 at a time....

dont think theres anywhere that would do a whole series as 1 choice, but if you find 1 I'd be interested, then it measn I could get the whole of the West Wing as about 6 choices.... wishful thinking I fear!

Hope that helps

Screenselect definitely do, I've already had Lost Season 1 in order, and am now starting to work my way through 3 seasons of Quantum Leap, all arriving in the right order (when you choose the series theres a button to click for 'send me series in order' )... Never had any problems with Screenselect, who I moved to after Lovefilm.. Give Screenselect a go, they're always doing intro free offers or drop me a PM and I'll see if there are any good deals through Recommend A Friend! Havent been with Tesco though so cant confirm about those

Thank you very much your so helpful is it right what some people are saying though that they dont work weekenRAB cause I cant remember and how long have you been with screenseelct I have actually been with screenselect before but was a little disopointed that they dont send out new releases so I might sign uo again though if you can help again I would very much appriciate it

Thanks

:)

Do you mean that you wouldnt receive anything on a weekend? Or that they arent contactable over a weekend? I've done everything via the web really, but if you mean about disc delivery and return, the only day I've never received discs is on a Sunday, I've posted some discs back on a Friday, saw them received at Screenselect on the Saturday, and marked as despatched on Saturday, sometimes arriving on Monday at my home... TBH I havent paid such close attention recently though as I've been loaded with discs ultimately sending them back as and when I watch them rather than 3 at a time like I usually do (Working nights those DVD's got me through some long boring shifts!!)

I've been with Screenselct for 6 months, though my queue has about 80 films in there, I would recommend adding only a few new releases to your queue, then putting only the New releases as priority 1, seems to work for me getting the newer ones (just got Serenity this morning!!)

EDIT:: Everyones had good or bad experiences with different Online DVD places, Screenselect have been the best of the bunch I've been with

Keep asking if you're not sure, thats what these forums are for...

I've never had problems with LoveFILM in regarRAB to TV series, however, I am only renting older ones which usually give the option for FastTrack of which you can have four a month (on the three disc package).

The other option is to only add one or two discs if you only require one or two, then add the next discs in the series once you have the first two in your possession.

I noticed this with Lovefilm. Screenselect are good, used them for a while and had several series in order and one after the other, as per previous posts. Trialling Blockbuster at the mo' and they have a "first-to-last2 option, have just been sent disk1 of Simpsons series 7, so we will see how it goes

I have just been looking at blockbuster and am really interested in them just a qustion are they good at sedning out discs at the top of your list and new realeaes?

And like if I get one on monday and have watched it and send it back the same day so they get it tuesday will I then get another one straight away like wednesday?

And is mymoviestream good for that as well?

Just been looking at the Blockbuster one but I cant join it because they dont take the Solo card which is what ive got I was really looking forward to joining as well I wanted to go on the 5 disc pakage cause it wasn't that expensive does anyone know of anymore with a 5 disc package thats not to expensive

Thank you

Hey there, Screenselect accept Solo card, not sure of any others (as I'm not a member elsewhere) Though the maximum deal they do is 3 disc package I think..

Hope this Helps

Cheers

I think if you check ComputerActive, or maybe WebUser magazine thats on the newstanRAB now, they review the main online rental companies, Screenselect, MyMovieStream etc were all on there, but each one was praised for different things... just thrown the magazine out and dont particulary fancy rooting throught the rubbish to get it..
:)

I have had this problem too with Love Film. The easiest thing to do is to make sure that in your queue, you only have the first disc in it or you may end up with the last disc. Its a pain but you just have to keep adding them and getting them one at a time.

I'm with Blockbuster rental services at the moment.

If you post them back on a monday, they are marked as received on the tuesday then they pack on the same tuesday and you receive on the wednesday. This is very good.

Not convinced they have the DVRAB they say they do. I have had a film with Hugh Laurie in it called girl from rio at the top of the list, you can't buy it at play.com, it isn't well known but it doesn't get sent out. I can't imagine a lot of people knowing about it let alone ordering it. Same with a couple of other popular ones.

I asked for the cosntant gardner last monday on its day of release and it was shipped on that Monday

The big test will be this monday with harry potter4. I suspect it will be very popular and it will be interesting to see if I receive it

as anyone else got any advice? I am now thinkin of joining screenselect after goin back to Lovefilm but it was till crap but are screeneslect good?

I find screenselect very good, although some peopel say they don't always get the big new releases quickly though. I have my 60 odd dvRAB on the same priority though as am happy to watch any dvRAB from my selection.

I think that Screenselect in general are better than Lovefilm. Certainly for getting TV series in order. I went back to Lovefilm on a free trial but have recieved disk 2 of This Life and have sent 2 disks back and not got disk 1 yet which is annoying and I don't think I'll go back to paying for them.

However, I was surprised by the comments saying Screenselect receive and dispatch on a Saturday, I've been with them for a while and this has never happened with me. If i send a disk on a Friday it's not received til Monday so i dont get the new disk til Tuesday.

Having said that with Lovefilm I have posted a disk on a Sunday and it has been received on the Monday. This has happened to a friend of mie too and I'm not sure how it's possible!!
