DVD rental companies not renting some films?

Has anyone else found that more and more films are now unavailable to rent?

I use Tesco DVD rental, which is actually lovefilm, and tried to add some films to my list and they aren't available to rent. One I tried to add was Green Zone.

Does anyone know why these films aren't included in the service. One 'review' on there said that there were problems with Universal Films not allowing their films to be rented. Anyone heard this?

That reviewer was correct. Lovefilm are having problems with film companies like Universal, so any of their films will not be avaliable to rent. Tesco are part of lovefilm, so therefore no films too.

Blockbusters don't seem to be having this problem, that's one reason I left lovefilm for Blockbusters. Blockbusters have Green Zone.

I have just joined Lovefilm and thought it was "the dog's" until I went to put Green Zone in my list and found it was unavailable despite being on Sky Box Office.

I checked Blockbusters' site to see if they had it and I also discovered that 2 disc boxsets only count as 1 rental, unlike Lovefilm where I have to rent both Luther (TV) Discs seperately.

I can't see the point of such a restricted service and will probably switch once my free trial month is up.

Lovefilm definitley have problems renting universal titles but im pretty sure that is the only one that they are having problems distributing when i contacted there cs team i was told that they were working at rectifying the situation but who knows when that will be!
