DVD release dates.

Anyone any idea why DVRAB are now increasingly being released on days other than Monday? It seems that a huge batch of big films are being released on Friday on the run up to Christmas. What's wrong with a Monday release? Is there any advantage to the film companies by doing this?

You will find that alot of retailers end up selling them of a weekend before the release so the films get released on the Friday before the usual Monday release.

Also keeps in tune with the release of new cinema releases

To catch the weekend shoppers. Personally I think its a bit pointless. If you release a film on Monday it will still sell, all be it a a lower rate up till the weekend.

If I want the DVD, I always get it the day it comes out no matter what day it is. Its just more spesh!
