Could anyone tell me please if you order a Region 1 disc from say play.com, do you just pay the given price or are you liable to any Customs charges- I mean is it coming from Jersey still or the US.
I ' m at an age where these sort of things confuse me.
thanks

If it's from Play UK I think you just pay the given price. Try CDwow as well, as they have region 1 DVRAB too and definitely don't have extra custom charges added.

I've used PlayUSA for R1 discs the last few years to get titles that either weren't available on the UK side, or because I wanted them earlier. None of them have ever actually been sent from the US (I can't comment on Playtrade though).

I have only ever had to pay Duty once. I was able to get a refund because PlayUSA actually sent the discs from Belgium.

If in doubt you can always e-mail Play:)

This may also help:

Would agree you need to consider the value of the item, also Royal Mail add on a seperate handling fee of around

I didn't say I got a refund from PLAY:rolleyes: I had to call unsing the charge number/reference given on the package I received.

Who was the refund from then?

Regardless of where PLAYUSA posted the discs - as R1 product they would still be eligible for import duty if they were over
