Have a Panasonic DVD Recorder. Trying to set up channels with Bell 6100 receiver. The DVD recorder starts to automatically load channels but stops at 125 and says no channels check antenna.
Please help ..rookie...thanks

What outputs are you using on the 6100? You will get better quality using something other than coax.

The DVD recorder has an NTSC tuner (some newer ones also have an ATSC tuner). This tuner is not capable of receiving Satellite channels. You need to tune the satellite STB to the channel you wish to record and you need to use the s-video input (or composite input) on the back of the DVD recorder to record the video signals from the STB. This is done when you set the recording and choose channel zero, or input 1 or whatever the rear inputs are called in your particular DVD recorder. You also have to connect the analogue audio cables (red/white).

You can also tune to channel 3 and use the RF-coax connection, however, that's the worst Picture Quality and it also is only mono sound.

Some DVD recorders have a "cable mouse" which can be set to control the STB, however, yours may not have this feature and it often doesn't work well.

Of course, you are also not recording in HD, but only 480i. Most people are far better off getting the HDPVR from BEV for recording/timeshifting, unless you feel the need to archive.
