DVD Intro's

I bought the special edition version of the Fugitive recently. There was this pointless 2 minute slot before the film started with the producer on the phone to Tommy Lee Jones with no way to skip it.

It really bugged me. Is there any point to this useless gimmick that I'm missing???:confused:

I guess...

I was watching from my computer though but even so the only way to avoid it is to fast forward through it.

But you shouldn't have to do that. It's just one of the most pointless things ever.

The worst ones have to be the Disney ones  My OH loves everything Disney and it sickens me to have to sit through so much rubbish before you watch the film. No wonder people watch copies at least you can skip them

The funniest one I can think of is the Extended Special Edition version of Gladiator, Ridley Scott sports a very nervous disposition like he was rushed to do it without a script.

I just wish that all DVD's went straight into the movie and play it. Then if you want to go into the DVD menu press your menu button. I only have a couple of DVD's that do this.

I accept that DVD Menu's are the business because that's what you want from interactive Multimedia, I just think they missed a trick when they don't program the disks to play the movie straight off and have that as standard.

I started watching Vacancy last night (only watched the first half an hour so far) but the menu screen was showing what appeared to be the whole film in clips. What's all that about? I tried desperately to press 'play' without looking at the screen. Talk about spoilers.

I HATE long-winded flashy intros where their only purpose seems to be to show how flashy they are, and often they are unskippable whatever you play the DVD on. Agree with the person who said Disney ones are the worst but I hate most of them because they're usually not only so long, but full of spoilery images or implications. If you're watching a film or tv series for the first time these intros are a nightmare!

I wish the morons putting these together would stop and think about something other than showing off for just a minute.
