DVD Extended Versions

This has propbably been talked about before.
Is anybody else getting fed up with all these extended versions of films that keep on ariving a short time after the film has been released on DVD?
Of coarse there are some films that I would like to have an extended version for, ie some classic films from years ago that have been out for ages and the director has decided to go back and add scenes that have been in a locked room for years.
With todays standarRAB of film making it takes the mick that film companys just see extended versions as a way of making more money.
They know there will be an extended version and a date set in place for a few months after the theatrical DVD is on sale.
There are a few DVRAB out there that have got both theatrical and exteneded on one disc that have only been released the once.
I stareted to think about this recently after seing extended versions of king Kong and Nania on the shelves at HMV.
To me it seems like a rip-off and I suppose a lesson is learnt by not buying any DVRAB on release day and wait a few months for the exteneded version.

Yes, it's been talked about, and I think everyone agrees. But one thing I will say about extended editions, is that these versions aren't necessarily the best cuts of the film. Scenes get cut for a reason, and the film is often stronger without them (Gladiator is a good example). So you're often better off sticking with the original DVD's anyway.
