During her confirmation hearing?

Sotomayor said she believed that our right to bear arms was guaranteed by the Second Amendment. But Monday Stomayor said, "nothing in the Second Amendment's text, history or underlying rationale that could warrant characterizing it as 'fundamental,' insofar as it seeks to protect the keeping and bearing of arms for private self-defense purposes."
Did she just lie during her confirmation hearing to get the SCOTUS appointment? If Kagan is confirmed, what will happen the next time a Second Amendment case is heard by SCOTUS?
 
Yes she lied. It is hard to tell with Kagan, she claims Frankfurter as who she looks to for a model justice. He was an advocate for judicial restraint. We will see if she follows his model.
