Durability of the E65

Made in Finland, no scratches, and the gap between the slide and the main phone body is wider than in ?LOUDNESS?'s picture above. I can't see how th slide could possibly contact the keypad part on my phone to produce any scratches.

And FWIW, one of the reasons I bought this phone is the build quality- compared to my N73 (now on ebay) it's miles better
 
Obviously there would be quality variances. I have two E65's here, one belongs to me and the other to friend at work. We can easily see that his has more gap between the screen and keypad, and his has a softer sound when the sliding mechanism opens and closes. The metal part around the screen on his E65 is also slightly uneven while mine is completely smooth and shiny.
 
I think my scratches are caused by my pushing down when I slide the phone up. I did it today and noticed the scratch got bigger. But a high end phone should not do this, should it?
 
It's not a high end phone.... sheesh. It's an entry level enterprise/business class phone.

A high end phone costs $800-1000 all the way up to $5000+.
 
Anyone have a problem with the silver part of the housing getting scratched? I have kept mine in a case all the time and its been my night time phone. But just the other day. I notice lots of mini scratches on the part around, where is says NOKIA. Driving me crazy.
 
Scratches will always happen to smooth aluminum surfaces. Can't be helped... My friend's E65 (see post above) has some of the paint on the back rubbed off. He keeps the phone in a leather case, and due to the way the phone slides into the case, some areas on the back now shows a lighter shade of brown, which is probably the real color of the plastic.
