Durability of the E65

I have had my E65 for two weeks now and have already managed to chip the right function key. I also have noticed that below the number keys there is a scratch caused by the sliding mechanism. I take really good care of my phone especially since I usually by high end. I mean, the phone is otherwise solid. I do not know what happened with the chip. The scratch pisses me off. Anyone else experience anything like this?

youch..this is the first gripes i've heard about the E65 in regards to build quality. Afaik it was built like a tank but it appears that it's built a little too well....tightness at least. Sorry to hear that boys! Phone looks lovely imo and scratched up parts aint cool.

I noticed in the review at mobile-review.com they stated:

-the keypad is framed by a metallic inset, whose surface is patterned as well, in order to emphasize the texture of the material used. And the halves will always stick to this surface, and it gets scratched in no time. Well-visible abrasions emerge in four days of usage.

I guess I am a victim of this.

can anyone check out their phone for me real quick. with the slide open if you grab the edge of the top of the phone(near the light sensor), does the phone have a little bit of play up and down? As in separating the top slide from the bottom slide? thanks guys

I didn't notice anything unusual while using my phone. I just looked at it one day and noticed that it was scratched. I baby my phones and believe me I open the slide as little as possible. Even now I do not really notice anything that would cause it to scratch the surface but it seems to be getting worse.

I've had this phone for over 3 weeks now and don't have any scratches on it from the slide mechanism. Made by Nokia BTW.......
