I understand I would need to do a credit check on the individual. Do I need to see a lawyer to get the lease created and signed? Is this something I can do on my own?
Check out your bylaws. Many do not permit renting out condos or limit the time period or reasons.
Check out your state LL/Tenant laws. Buy a form lease from a stationery store, good for your state.
Read the lease carefully and understand it. Cross off any parts that don't apply.
Don't let anyone move in until their check has cleared, or get a MO, for security deposit and first month's rent.
