unlike yuppie wannabes, who buy ducati to look good parked at a f$cking starcucks?
point is,ducati sells motorcycles to make money and expanding product range makes for more buyers regardless of social circles or stereotypes and thats why they and occ partnered up in a dealership; money talks and everything else is secondary

You must have done the rounds on a few weekend marketing seminars!!

Globally, the cruiser market is falling. This segment was buoyed by the baby-boomer demographic ( retirees, or fast approaching, high amassed wealth, yet still with disposable income and facing mid-life crises through discretionary - "status driven" - purchasing).

The boomer generation's buying power peaked a few years ago, and coupled with the global financial crisis, their purchasing habits (and indeed their savings!!) are on the decline. HD has suffered a marked drop-off. And Ducati would be insane to chase such a failing market....

I don't know guys, I just can't see that there would be enough of a market for them to not lose their shirts on it. Companies have their core expertise, and I see Ducati being as successful with the cruiser market as Harley was with sport bikes. Moto Guzzi has been an Italian cruiser maker forever and they're always a few bad sales away from bankruptcy.

I'd love for Ducati to come out with an updated supersport and I'm sure there's a few diehards on here that feel the same way, but I also remember the 05 and 06's sitting on the showroom floor well into 2008 reduced to well under a third of their retail.

I'm actually surprised as many people have shown interest in it as have posted here even but the fact remains, it's not a Harley which is where most cruiser interest lies and dies.

i disagree, harley sales r slumping because old money is dying out and harley doesnt change or innovate.new year, same old harley.why upgrade if u r basically buying the same sh!t. victory seems to do well and its not affiliated w/ harley. moto guzzi is long in the tooth with their stuff also which is why they are in their current situation. look at the jap brands, honda yamaha, and the others, those guys r into everything from cars to watercraft to generators.

No. Nor am I related to Alfred - First Marine Naval Aviator.

Certainly some important aviation history with the name though.

Yeah there is. What are you hoping for out of pilot training? If you get a fighter, we need to hook up a cross country and get our squadrons some DACT

I wanted a cruiser, for the calmer rides and this was just perfect. Called my dealer already 6 month ago and told him I take one if they build it and to call me once he has confirmation so that I can send him a check.

Guess I be going to buy a Vmax now........
