You should be able to go to a dealer with your proof of ownership and ID and they should be able to get the info off the computer to re-program your new key.

If you dont have the Code Card or the red key you are pretty much screwed. There is no way to program another factory key without those items. Neither the dealer or DNA will be able to help you.

Might I ask how a person acquires a bike without the correct key and keycard??

1) Maybe is a salvage bike
2) The dealer forgot to give the keycard to the owner (I know it happens)
3) The owner lost the keycard
Actually you can take apart the key and swap the chip inside the key. You can take a look at the Service Manual. It shows you how to do it.

yes, you can take the key apart and remove the chip.
I did it for a guy a couple of years ago that he lost the red key and the other black key and had no card, I removed the chip and glued it to his antena so he could use any other key and the bike would run as long as the key turned the ign switch.
in order to get the chip you have to remove the ducati logo and remove a pin that locks the metal part of the key to the plastic part, then pull them apart and wala, you have a chip!!!
