I was surprised when I first heard that Ducati even wanted Nicky. I think Ducati is looking at it in more of a PR move for the U.S. market then anything. Nicky looks at it as a chance of a life time.
Nicky seems like a likable guy...I've never been a big fan of him but I do hope he waxes Rossi' ass.
We had a great time .. start saving your pennies, next one is the 10th anniversary, is always around late October... nah, no one run out of gas, but then again, the big red Ducati truck follows us all around... and only 1 crash, 1st day before lunch.. poor guy got airborne over a hump into a right hand bend... the ST looked in pretty bad shape, he was lucky...only bruising...
Reading this thread makes me ask...How many people on the board actually race or have raced a motorcycle? Yes everyone's entitled to an opinion but all opinions are not the same.
Hayden couldn't have won a world championship without god on his side. He was lucky he had god with him that year, he wouldn't have woin it without him.
He's as talented as Gibernau. I'll leave that where it started.
Pedrosa IS faster than Hayden, and would do better on the Ducati.
Does the computer not calculate the fuel onboard and adjust the HP accordingly so the bike does not run out of fuel?
When was the last time that someone ran out of fuel at that level of racing?
The situation sure leaves room for questions as to how it happened.
Really all of this history doesn't matter because no matter what happens next year the conversation in front of coffee shops around the world will be the same.
2. I remember last year after a race. Stoner ran out after he entered pit lane and then Capirex drag Stoner the rest of the way until Cap ran out just as they both got to the pits (metres from their garage)
3. I know I'll still be dribbling shit next season, barracking for Ducati and riding no where near any coffee shops. It's a bit like riding a thoroughbred race horse from one side of the yard to the other. No thanks.
Hayden faster than Pedrosa? HRC deliberately sabotages Hayden so he runs out of gas? You sure do read an awful lot into anything I write, apparently so you can rant on.
I probably don't know all the details of MotoGP fuel management, but I'm pretty sure his team should know how much to have on board based on his riding style. Maybe the on board computer does a little fuel management. I would certainly think Hayden isn't staring at a gas needle, his team is monitoring fuel via telemetry for him?
yay!!..thanks brett....
i wanted to argue this one..but didnt have the exact info.......someone else ran outa fuel last year as well?? (mr influx.. am i mixing up with wsbk?)
and yes we will all be dribbling shite next season.....just this time.....itll be american vs ozzie
with regards to the 2 lead pilots at ducati....o well! (had better get my tongue sharpened for that!)
and you never know.....hayden may take to the d'sedici
(hate it when some peeps call it the "desmo"...geez)......way better than melandri did
its early days yet.....with his taste at world champion,......im betting the whole change has got nicky runnin on a full tank of adrenalin......he came up refreshed and fighting after the signing,
(and heel had healed)
brett....same has u.....my horsey never gets tied up outside a coffee shop......gotta be a pub!!....(even if the refreshment is lemonade!) and only after a day in the saddle.......
hahaha....im gonna say it.....my bright pink ducati, aint no show pony.....hhahaa....
(there goes my credibility)
next year.....its on! bring it i cant wait!!!
d-cat-i
watch a stoner race...one when hes ON!.......when everything is running and sorted to perfection..
stoner rides to an almost mathematical formula.....he punches the lap times out with precision.....economising all of his resources.....
same as rossi.....theres waaay more than just balls involved....
team shit happens.......and i beg to differ about "team" support........the rider personality/ego issues comes into play .......hence the walls between team members.....not the optimum scenario from a team perspective.....in any sport!
rider separation,not team separation.....
