DSI Chat (nintendo) what is it how do you do it ?

My son bought a nintendo DSI on his Birthday(17) tuesday. we really don't know much about the dam thing LOL.But what is DSI Chat ? How does it work ? Do you have to have the DSI online/Wifi ? Okay i don't even know what Wifi is but had 2 ask. Can you please explain this to me .Thank you very much.
also please explain how 2 activate it on the DSI ?thank you
 
Hello, it's not called dsi chat, it's called picto chat. You do not need wifi - wifi is another name for your internet connection ; kind of. It's like the connection in the air. But anyway, you don't need it. Usually with wifi you need a internet connection code. Talk to your broadband provider on more information on wifi ; well you do not need that for picto chat. All you need is somebody else to chat too, ( somebody else with a nintendo ) they have to be within 7 meters from you.

You both go into picto chat and go to the same chat room ; there is a.b.c and i think there's chat room d. I forget anyway, you both go into it and then on the top screen it will say, "..." has entered the chat room. I hope this helps. Oh and if you click on the pencil button twice ( on the touch screen ) you will get a rainbow colour.
