Dry clutch ques.

I had a 848 and no clutch noise at all.

I have a 1098 now and still not that much noise.

Really curious about opening that clutch to see what all the buzz is about.

yes, now you really got me curious.

I wish I had a slipper clutch, doing 120 on a straigh away and slamming down gears into the hairpin is sketchy. You dump the clutch to slow the bike down your going into a big slide! So I have to let the clutch out gently and make sure its not going overeact, dam thumper. The inline 4s never had that problem!

right.
when we go to the track we down gear at higher speeds than that.. no pb with either my 848 or my 1098... but I really know how you feel

Ya may not like it at first but it grows on ya....its a Duc thing for sure.

If ya have to start it in a quite neighborhood your neighbors may not like you. If you could hear this.......

The BEST split the difference I've seen is an ex-DML member Strati who had a Motowheels lightweight clutch with aluminum plates and basket. The klack-klack-klack was still there but greatly muted, and the shing-shing-shing was audible too, but at a much improved volume. I would say louder than a closed clutch but 1/3 as loud as fully open.

In a nutshell, you could hear the exhaust over the clutch at idle.
