DRX 9000 long term effects

There are several threaRAB already about the DRX 9000. I've found them all to be pretty useful. Seems to help some people. Seems to not help others. Couldn't find much about the long term effects though (probably because it hasn't been around all that long) Have there been many people who have had it work for them initially but over the course of a couple years have had the pain come back. I have an L5-S1 herniation and am in pain pretty much 24 hours a day, though probably not as severe of pain as most other people I have seen post here. Nothing ive done has helped it. I'm looking into the DRX 9000 (as I don't want surgery) but am not convinced that its effects are permanent. I've talked to a couple Doctors about it as well as a Chiropractor who owns the machine. The Chiropractor swears by it, but the 2 doctors said it was useless. I was told by one of the doctors that once a disk dehydrates it more or less dies and calcifies (he wasn't a spine specialist though). At any rate if anyone has heard or experienced the long term effects of the DRX 9000 please post.

I did the decompression therapy, called IDD, but it's the same therapy. I have DDD, with bulging disc at L5/S1 also. My sciatica was so bad along with lower back pain.. it was getting hard to walk, and I really more of "limped" everywhere.

I underwent 20 sessions. At first.. it flared me up badly.. they put off the treatment for a week and I got epidural injections into the back and SI joint. Then the further I got into it, it felt great and my back "overall" was feeling like a whole unit again. It gave me back some flexibility I had lost, had less pain, and could walk a lot better. Had an MRI shortly after the procedure and one was done about 9 months before that. There was NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL in the disc height or hydration of any of my discs. This was offered from my Pain Management doctor. He has accupuncture, aroma therapy.. you name it.. this guy has it on the menu to help people, along with the more classic medical treatments.

I also tried to tell my other doctors about the therapy.. even though I was feeling better having beent through it.. they were not interested in hearing what I had to say. My ortho surgeons I saw and it was 4 of them.. they gave it no merits either.

I went through it because I did not want surgery either. I am afraid.. you aren't going to get a cure from it.. as I dont know anyone with a bulging disc that it resected itself from this type of therapy. Maybe someone will post on this and I will be surprised, but I have to stay.. I would doubt the validity.

A year later.. I am now 10 weeks post fusion but NOT at the L5/S1.. but at L4/L5.. a discogram showed this disc was torn and badly leaking and imitated my pain.

So if you can afford to spend the $$$ on the decompression therapy.. you should reap some benefit from it and it might buy you some time. But if $$$ is an issue for you.. you might wanna do some more thinking before you dive in.

Take care and I wish you the very best and a fruitful resolution to your pain. Tammy:wave:

REMOVEDThey basically talk about fraud in the area of "health". see what they say about drx9000....

I tried DRX9000 and it messed me up. It looks like a fancy machine with all kind s of space ship looking lights etc... a sign of BS in my book

My husband is at the end of his decompression treatments. He has dealt with his condition for over 19 years until a year ago turns out L4-L5 and L5-S1 herniated and L3-L4 is now degenerating. He originally signed up for the 20 session treatment, but because his condition was so bad, the chiro offered him an additional 8. Eventhough the actual back pain is less and some mobility has returned (even his upper back/neck area feels better), he is still having the nurabing/shooting pain down the legs. I would say this treatment could work for those who only have degenerating discs, but once the disc is bulging or herniated, it not going to take care of that problem. Appointment is now set again for him to see the spine specialist.

I did 20 treatments on the DRX 9000 with an after MRI that showed the herniation was gone. I hurt myself in Desert Storm. Tricare doesn't pay for treatment so I researched it very carefully and I found that the DRX and VaxD are the only true non surgical spinal decompression unit out right now. The IDD is a Traction Unit Only (Big Difference). It's been 7 month since my last treatment and I feel great! I would use only the DRX or VaxD. Don't waste your time or money on the others. Hope that helps

BigW , thanks for doing a great job in Desert Storm ,my neigrabroador was over there to.( Marine) Jar head..lol I served 8 years in the Army Nation Guard
No ! we didn't slack by any means , I was in an Infantry unit and we trained very hard and no parties like alot of other units , we often trained with the
82nd AirBorne and we impressed them.

I was watching my local news and they were talking about the Drx and they said it isn't a permanent fix for MOST people , but will help in some cases.

Hope your recovered from your injury..

Fall Out !

I can say that I was a huge skeptic when it came to Chiropractors and what this DRX 9000 machine could do. I had a L3 disk problem about 3 years ago. the interior material of the disk had been pushed out and was severely irritating the nerve, which then radiated down my entire right leg. I was miserable. I went to the medical doctors and they immediately put me on very powerful and mind nurabing pain pills and no real treatment to physically heal the problem. Surgery was the only choice I thought for me. I read about the DRX on line and called a local chiropractor in Houston who had the machine in his office. I scheduled an appointment and he explained to me exactly how the machine works. I was in extreme pain and said to myself that I would give this chance before going under the knife. I began a 20 session program and I immediately felt relief on the table. Between the 8-10 session I was feeling like myself again, I could not believe it but it was obvious the system was working. By the 20th session I was feeling really good and with the rehab program I was well on my way to regaining my strength and active lifestyle back. It has been about 3 years since the procedure and I would strongly recommend it to anyone with this type of back problem over surgery and pain pills.
