Drum head - problem with aluminium rim?

I just got my new bass drum head in the mail, and the outer aluminium rim that attaches around the edges of the skin is all bent, it's not really bad, but it's noticable.
So i was wondering if I need to send it back or will it still tune properly?
And if it wont tune are there any ways of correcting the problem?
