One of my close friends is thinking of joining the army he made some poor choices as a youth and partook in the smoking of marijuana cigarettes. He has been clean for a year straight if he answers yes on the military application when it asks about drug use what will happen. Advice?
More or less what im tryin to find out is will they compleatly deny him entry? Will they take into account his being clean im not making a big deal out of it, he came to me for advice and since i lack the nessesary knowldge i thought i would inquire to someone who has experence at say a meps station or someone with prior experence in that specific feild.

Nah. As long as he's clean when he shows up and is honest about it, he has no problems. Also, tell him to lay off the dope because he will be tested routinely and his battle buddies will appreciate having his head in the game.

ok heres the TRUTH! first of all its probably not your friend its actually YOU. second of all MEPS have gotten a LOT more strict..er. they will try to scare you by saying if youve ever done drugs and you dont tell them and they find out you go to prison and up to a 10,000 dollar fine. but dont fall for it. if you do your DONE. one guy trying to get in the airforce was dropped just like that. so if you know ur clean but you have done it DONT even mention it okay?
