S spooning leads to forking New member Oct 22, 2010 #1 Is it okay to take a prescribed med a couple weeks/months after expiration day?

I have meds that are 4 months old and are still good. Yes drugs lose effectiveness but only in some cases. Many drugs will have many more months. Obvisouly chk with a pharmacist first, but dont toss it away till you confirm for sure. Odds are you are ok with them. Still check though. IN fact I tend to not consider drugs expiring till they have gone unused for months (and thats often long before they truely expire).
